Igor Malanchuk -Tom Worthan Plan to Debate

Douglasville, GA: Republican challenger Igor Malanchuk, 43, said he is ready to debate Douglas County Commission Chairman Tom Worthan in a public forum about the future of the county.

Malanchuk said Worthan was reluctant to agree to debate him but agreed he would do so if the Republican Party officials ran the forum. Malanchuk agreed. The two candidates talked over the issue at Worthan’s “Chat with the Chairman” meeting at Fire Station #6 Monday night.

“I am ready to talk about his (Tom Worthan) record and my vision for Douglas County”, Malanchuk said. The voters need to see us side by side addressing the issues they are concerned about.”

Malanchuk said he’s willing to face off with Worthan in any forum Worthan feels comfortable with.

“I will show voters we can run this county in a responsible manner. I believe in the Republican principles of less government, lower taxes and personal responsibility. Worthan has abandoned these principles and he needs to explain his actions”, Malanchuk said.

Malanchuk suggested the GOP host the forum with the local newspaper reporters and the public asking the questions.

“I am ready… any time, any place!”, Malanchuk stated.
